I really enjoyed the night at Browne when we used different tools and techniques like this to make different marks. I can see how it will make for much more interesting paintings too. Check out some of Lewis’s. Note to self: Keep playing.
I went for a couple of months recently without drawing or painting anything, mainly because I was distracted by work. But I’ve started sketching again, with a little help and inspiration from this book. All of the below images are exercises or copies from the book. Click on them to see the full image.
Last Wednesday, we worked with ink and shellac, which is basically beetle poo and meths. 🙂 The idea was to continue to work with line and tone and build a bridge between drawing and painting (by introducing a brush).
