I’ve been reading a bit about colour theory and had a go at creating my first colour wheels. The wheel on the left is based on my warm primaries, and the one on the right is based on my cool primaries. You can see I completely stuffed up some (most?) of the mixing, especially along the bottom of the right-hand wheel, where two of the colours look nearly black. But it was a worthwhile exercise, one I’ll revisit.
I’m excited to say, I bought some decent (Schmincke Akademie acrylic) paints today—along with some gesso, new brushes, and other bits and pieces to move my painting forward. Can’t wait to try out the new colours!
No representation intended. Just playing with marks and colours.
The orange background was totally contrived. I just thought it might make a fun contrast with the blue vase. Kinda overpowering.
