I don’t particularly like Jim Carrey’s paintings, and I do worry about what goes on in his head sometimes, but I find this video really inspiring. I love his sense of play and purpose.
I haven’t picked up my brushes in a while—I’ve been feeling a bit unmotivated and intimidated. So, I decided to get out my paints and just play. Play is underrated, I think.
This Wednesday just been (1 April) was our final Beginning to Draw & Paint class at Browne. It was meant to be on abstraction, but because we’d moved to Zoom and it would’ve been tricky to teach by video, Matthew decided to continue with the previous week’s subject of transcription and analysis.
It’s taking me longer and longer to post these because the exercises I’m working on between classes are taking longer.
Last Wednesday, we finally got to work with paint. This is what I’d been waiting for.
