My first exercise from 101 Techniques: Acrylics. I thinned my acrylics and used them more like watercolours here.
This is my first attempt at a larger canvas (12×16″) and my own composition. It’s based on a photo I took.
Or rather, a tree and clouds. I didn’t really think about composition with this one. Too much to think about with colour mixing and just trying to get something that resembled a real scene onto the paper. Always learning!
My fifth project from Little Ways to Learn Acrylics. This was the one my eldest daughter asked me to paint for her. I found it quite hard—especially mixing the greens and greys, which didn’t really come out like the book. This was my second attempt too (I chucked the first one in the bin).
