I have an idea to make a painting of a few coloured pegs, so last night I did a bit of sketching in preparation. I found them quite hard to draw—to see what was actually there. I think it’s the differing angles of the different planes.
If the majority of aesthetic works fails to astonish us, then, it may have something to do with the ingrained insensitivity that is part and parcel of contemporary life. I’m not sure what the name of the plant is that this was picked from (one of my girls picked it for the tiny flowers), but it was fun rendering it with just a few Sharpie colours.
