Access-lane marker, Orewa Beach. Acrylic on 9×12″ canvas panel
I painted this from a photo I took at Orewa Beach on Christmas Eve day. I loved how the bright-orange stripes on the pole (
access-lane marker) looked against the grey and other muted colours.
Probably could have moved the pole a bit more towards the centre for a more balanced composition.
Neon acrylic on 5×7″ canvas panel
A bit of fun straight from the bottle, on a canvas my youngest daughter bought me. 😊 Unfortunately, these paints (
FolkArt Neon Blacklight) flatten, mix, and darken a bit when they dry.
Ink and watercolour on paper
The outcome of an experiment with ink and patterned paper towels. 😊
Acrylic on 8×10″ canvas
Last week, I sat down with my youngest daughter (nine) to do some painting. I didn’t have any idea what to do, but as I was bringing some materials in from the garage, I noticed the interlocking shapes in some tiles on our driveway. That was my starting point.
These are some of my better paintings to date. Click on an image to zoom in and read its description.
