Pegs—in colour

Pegs

I was tempted to avoid painting this, because I found the pegs hard to draw (and I thought I’d stuff them up painting them), but I’m glad I didn’t. The colour in the photo’s not quite accurate (what looks like a red peg is actually bright pink), but you get the idea.

Chris I like very much the loose, impressionist style you seem to be developing. I began painting about 35 years ago, then life came at me and I didn’t pick up a brush for about 35 years. I’m at it again, but almost feel like a beginner. Thanks for the information..I will read it.

Thanks for your comment, Helen. I don’t feel like I’m at the stage of developing a style yet, but I am drawn to Impressionism and a loose, painterly style, so maybe it’s rubbing off. My looseness is probably also due to the fact that I haven’t learnt to control the brush very well yet. 😆

Fantastic to hear you’re getting back into painting. What medium are you using, and what kinds of style and subject do you like to paint?
