I got the book Little Ways to Learn Acrylics from the library, and it’s brilliant. 50 small projects, in different styles, that start very simple and get progressively harder.
I asked my kids to each pick a painting from it that they’d like me to paint for them, and this is the first one, for my youngest daughter. I didn’t achieve the smooth graduation that’s shown in the book, but I actually kinda like how the sea turned out.
The next two paintings, for my older kids, are significantly harder, but I’m looking forward to attempting them—and some of the other projects in the book.
